Clos du Meix Garnier Monthelie Monopole 2022
In stock
Grape Varietal: Pinot Noir
Country: France
Region: Monthélie, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy
The Wine: Domaine Monthelie-Douhairet-Porcheret is a small organic estate now run by Cataldina Lippo, granddaughter of André Porcheret — longtime cellar master at the Hospices de Beaune. The Clos du Meix Garnier is their monopole (single owner vineyard): a 1.36-hectare parcel at the center of the village, its name from the medieval term for a farmstead enclosed within a dwelling.
Hand-harvested, 100% destemmed, fermented in stainless steel, and aged 18 months in French Tronçais oak with 10% new. The 2022 Clos du Meix Garnier is a precise village Burgundy that punches above its appellation.
It opens with aromas of cherry, strawberry, and violet, lifted by subtle spice. On the palate, it is fresh and supple, with velvety tannins, clean acidity, and a mineral finish.
Pairing: Roast pork tenderloin with cherry pan sauce, a mushroom and gruyère quiche, butter-braised leeks with crusty bread.
